 The work force in Williamson County is actually composed of workers from most of the counties of deep southern Illinois. This is made clear by the results of a recent survey showing that of the 600 plus employees in one of the industrial parks in the county, only 40% actually live in Williamson County. Another 40% live in the four adjacent counties in each direction and commute from a 30 mile radius to work in the county. The remaining 20% come from the other 12 counties of southern Illinois and commute up to one hour to work in Williamson County.
